The Swift was powered by a new generation of Suzuki engine called the M family. It was an inline-four engine with both a 1.3 and 1.5 liter option. They came with the option of a five speed manual transmission or a four speed automatic.
There was also the option of front or four wheel drive. The three door version was slightly shorter,The second generation Suzuki Swift was produced from 2004 until 2010. This sporty, subcompact car was a low price alternative to other vehicles in its class and did amazingly well in the car market due to those exact reasons. It has a refined chassis and excelled in road testing programs.
It received a four star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. In 2006 it received the Semperit Irish Car of the Year Award. There were also a few trim levels introducing including the GL and the GX. The car was very modern and sleek looking. The S-Concept came with a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine with a six speed manual transmission. The Sport version was also available.The current fourth generation Swift was introduced in 2017.
